Greddy vs HKS turbo kit
Yes you can get the 2835 kit for the EVO. There is already one guy on here who has it. The HKS turbo kits are not straight Garrett stuff. They are some stock Garrett and some custom Garrett and some HKS stuff.
BTW, none of these are technically intended to be complete bolt on. There are a few things you have to do just yet. They did this so the kit fits the different EVO versions. HKS will have a complete kit for the 8 "soon".

worth checking the meaning of "kit".
Certainly my 3037s kit didn't even fit my front pipe!
Still, that is the fun of tuning
THe Greddy kits are at least real kits, even including air filter and induction piping.
All of the HKS turbos use GT25 turbines. The 3037, 3037s, 3040 and 3240 use GT30 or GT40 compressors.
The parts are infact all Garret stock parts, with some different machining, but it is VERY hard to work out what parts you need!
The Greddy turbos are manufactured by mitsubishi to Greddy spec, and under license, so you cannot get spares anywhere other than Greddy - which usually means the turbo goes back to Japan!
You can of course fit alternative parts, as I did when my 20g went pop!

I know you can get close, but getting it right is tough. You are right; they aren't kits in the sense that they turn a bone stock car into a functional upgrade turbo car. They aren't even kits in the sense that you get everything you need to make it work. Again, the HKS "kit" is a setup kit, actually. It isn't complete because they include everything ALL EVO's will need. You have to do a bit yourself as well. Ah well, if you can't fab something here or there for the 3037S kit (or have it done), then you probably aren't ready for it (mechanically speaking). It takes a lot of stuff to properly support.
They are, though, coming out with a true kit for the EVO8, or so I hear.
No, the 3037s kit isn't made to fit the USDM Evo 8
