Have a friend that just picked up a Evo II for next to nothing, and he's wandering what the stock boost is and what a safe level to up it with the stock engine? I don't know much about the older versions. The only mods on the car are a full exhaust and suction kit. The cars pretty fast as is and he drives like my grandmother so I told him not to even bother with a boost controller or anything else but he insists that he is going to make his II faster than my VII! Not with my new ECU & Clutch he's not! If anyone has any insight I would it would be greatly appreciated.

 

My Evo 3 has around 12psi. I don't know if the 2 and 3 have similar boost. I know the 3 has a bit higher compression.

 

So in theory the Evo II should be able to run 12psi no prob if not more correct?

Should be able to run 16 or 17 psi, depending on whether you can get premium fuel or not.
