I have 272 HKS Ex cam on my IX and I've gained 7kw@wheels.
Still waiting for HKS Mivec cam to come out.

But am open to puting in the GSC S1's or Cosies if they are worth the extra work.

My feeling at the moment is that the GSC 272 Evo 8 exhaust cam only is worth for arguments sake 15HP for $300 installed and the Cosies are gona cost me maybe closer to $900 installed but only gain me 10HP extra...

So my argument is that 10HP is not really worth the extra work and fiddling on the head rather have 10HP less but a next to stock install.

But I concede that I have figured this out totally wrong and the best thing to do would be to just put in GSC S1's or Cosies....

.

What extra work are you talking about? Neither the cosworths or the gsc S1 need springs or retainers. The cossie its recommend if your revving past say 7800. I personally have the S1 and made great power and even better throughout the powerband

Sigh ....the only reason people used to use just an exhaust cam was because
there were no intake cam available.

R E A D dipstick [I have ordered both HKS intake and exhaust cams after speaking to craig and you]

Geez anyway I figured that one out - but it doesn't change the fact thats its an effective mod...

Plus my point was that if I wanted to emulate the GSC 264 intake 272 exhaust combo that I purchased for my VIII then on the 9 all I needed was the Exh Cam because with MIVEC the 9 intake cam can perform as well as the GSC 264...

(btw. we need to organise a EVO getogether soon)

Should be equivalent to: 272-272 but the main reason I went with them is that they are designed to work with the stock valvetrain and theres no need for springs and retainers which I wanted to avoid doing at this point... (as my car has less than 1000mi on the clock)

PS. Do I have to change my Timing Maps and Mivec Map for the the Cams?

If I don't change any of my ECU flash Maps will it lean out a bit my AFR is 10.4 at 7000rpm and 11's in the midrange...
