For "normal" small boost leaks, you won't notice it on your boost gauge or be able to hear it with the car running. For leaks like that you'll need a boost leak tester and a spray bottle filled with soapy water. Without the car idling, you might be able to hear leaks you didn't notice before. Some you won't be able to hear at all... thats where the spray bottle comes in. With the intake system pressurized, spray all piping from the compressor outlet to the manifold. You'll find leaks by watching for any bubbles forming on the intercooler piping.
yeah well went over thing to make sure I had every thing tight didnt find any thing. My leak tester is almost here but I went out for the heck of it. full throttle in 5th and it actually held about 17 maybe 18 lbs on my autometer boost gauge. ( I know its not the best.)
You think the lil freak low boost was just from sitting?
Also to add to the question I remember reading this some time back.. I want to clean my i/c, but i cant remember what chemical was recommended. I remember some people said use gas and rinse but others disagreed.
thanks again guys

you dont have to do a boost leak check...ive never done a boost leak check and found all my leaks ive had before.
just take off the front bumper and check all the pipes and clamps etc...i had a big boost leak and only boosted 9psi.took off front bumper and one of my silicones hoses had a rip in it...just check you boost lines, pipes, clamps, hoses etc...
its really not that hard...sometimes the hose or pipe may just come loose...thats what happened to me everytime
