what causes a turbo to back spool in high rpm's
what would cause a turbo to back spool,
in 1st gear everythng ok with his car but in 2nd the exhaust pops and the car stutters ??

The "sputter" is due to a bad spark plug(s) or plug wire(s)

Now the spool problem is more than likely a defective bov, or wrongly installed bov/diverter valve. (could be installed backwards)

Huh? What is back spool? Sounds like you need new plugs, but I'm not sure what you mean by "back spool."

Never heard of "back Spool"


Change your plugs...or there gapped to large.

how have you decided that it is spinning backwards. Is exhaust coming out the intake and vice versa.

its a friend's car we were just talking about it at work hes got in at the dealer now, the car is all efd up anuways,
i was just curious to see if any one has a good answer right of the back

well i havent decided nothing, his car seems to pull great in 1st gear now when you hit second it stutters and stalls, whatever is an srt-4 who cares,

Sounds like turbo surge. The small turbos on the SRT-4's are notorious for that.
