The rod bolts would be a nice addition to the bottom end. but IMHO if you were going to go thru all the trouble of doing rod bolts on the car you might as well go in there and upgrade the pistons, piston rings, rods, rod bolts, bearings and hone the cylinder walls while you're at it. This can be done with the block in the car and with a GT35R turbo, this combo can be a real street killa....

Another thing I notced is that i dont think the ARP rod bolts will work with the stock rods... I think they need to be machined for proper installation

Quote: Im looking to take my MR to the next level as im selling my 600awhp GMC Syclone. I dont want to go that crazy with the mr as i broke alot of crap with the syclone and dont want to walk that path again with this car. I want to keep driving my evo everyday but make more power and im sure once the syclone is out of the garge the evo will become a nice weather car.

So after reading bernados luck with the BR3065 kit and from talking to Jrod at BR that is def the way im going to go. Bernardo made 475 on just 23psi pump and meth and Jrod well we all know about Jrods success.

So my ?'s to u guys is how reliable are ur cars with close to 500awhp? What kind of gas milage do u get? Are they still just as fun to drive as they were when u had stock turbos? Do u have alot of driveline issues?

Thanks alot guys
The Syclone is a peice of junk, thats why it keeps breaking JK

500awhp should be enough to keep things in tact just fine, as long as the basics of maintenance are kept religiously. Also, it really depends how you drive it. Bernardo made 475 at like 25-26psi on the 3065 kit with meth, not 23psi, btw.

The car with a 35R sized turbo will be fun in different ways than a stock turbo or Green'd turbo car will be. I love having the instant torque that slams you in the seat after I get out of a turn. With a 35R, thats gone, but you do have that everlasting fun when you're screaming to 8000rpm and it keeps just pulling harder and harder. Your gas mileage is 0 when youre flooring it whether you have a stock turbo or a GT35R. If youre out of boost, its basically the same too. Again also depends how you drive... completely.

should take anywhere from 3-5 hours to do the rod bolts depending on what skill level the mechanic has. IMHO shouldn't take more than 4 hours to do even if its your first time. They are easy to do and its a good measure to keep things snug down under

Soon2beEvo

I believe bernardo was spiking 25 and falling down to 23 but no matter. i also believe i asked u and u said dont get ride of the truck when i first got the evo haha.

Reading about Trent from Buschar and running 10.66 on pump gas is also great to hear and i read he drives his car like 60 miles each way to work. And is getting great gas milage.

Im hoping the stock block wont have to many problems living at 500hp. i dont plan on tracking the car alot and dont really race alot. I do want to know that if i go to the track for a day it isn't going to blow up first pass out.

Thanks again everyone

I dont think a FP3065 is dropping boost when running 25psi. That is ***** boost for that turbo. It can hold 30+ to redline easily. Also, I said keep the truck because it seemed nice. I did not know it blew up 2 separate times. After that, Id say see ya later to it. I would not get too hyped about people like Trent's car since duplicating his results will be a pretty far shot for anyone. The stock block can handle 500whp. For how long? I dont know. A pretty good time I would say. There are TONS of people running around on stock blocks with over 500whp on GT35Rs now, so I wouldnt worry.

This really seems like the setup to have, the 3065 with a stock block. You guys are all upgrading intercoolers and running meth to get these sub 500 numbers??

357 isnt enough awhp?
man your car is already faster then 97% of the street cars on the road
you have an 11 sec street car... well that would be good enough for me ne way

Its faster than most stock cars but when you come out to play, in reality, its not very much power.

If you make over 450awhp the six speed transmission will break. I am making 518 awhp and it lasted 1000 miles. I have a built five speed on the way.

I have a 2.3 with ~500 daily driven and the option to go more with race gas.

To be honest its pretty cool to have it and i dont regret anything about my car but that much power really isnt need for a daily.
Its fun but like mentioned earlier takes alot more to drive it properly and keep from using the power in the wrong situations. Its very tempting.

I can daily my car but after a driving it a bit i decided not to. I am planning on changing my wastegate spring to run less power to enjoy it a bit more (AEM and boost controller will always let me go more safetly as long as i know my limits on pump and race. Currently 19 psi with EBC off).

Like i said its cool and sick and all but really not needed.

However you'll really enjoy it.
