Well I don't really know a better way to describe it. I pulled the drain plug for the tranny today and there were a few metal shavings but not to bad. The thing that has me worried is there seemed to be alot of a grease like substance all over the drain plug. Looked just like lithium grease or something. It was pretty think too.

I started another thread about how I was leaking some fluid out of the vent cap on my t-case even though I havent filled my tranny or t-case in months. Could they be related? The car has been driving just fine. No trouble shifting or abnormal noises. Anyone know what this could be?

Mine had a surprising amount of shavings on the drain plug when I changed the fluid at 7k miles. My car had never been drag raced at that point and was 100% stock.

 

What about the grease like substance? I didnt notice it the first time I changed my fluid.

 

probally just some type of assembly lube

 

It's normal. I wouldn't worry about it
