As stated by davidbuschur get a Twin Disc

If you only want to spend 500$ on the clutch, then get the Exedy Stage 1

I have a competition stage 3 1/2 and it grabs pretty well. Only downside is the engagement spot.

I have a ACT and it is nice. Holds power good and it was like 600 or 700 with the lightened flywheel. its good up to 450 hp. Anything more go with the exedy.

Please ignore this statement, unless you want to only get another 10 to 20k miles out of a clutch. The Exedy stage 1 is the exact same clutch as the stocker. BAD IDEA.

ACT HDSS is your best bet for single disc. If you have the money, go with a twin. You will like it more in the long run, but there is nothing wrong with the ACT single for a street car/occasional track use.

I was thinking that too. The ams site shows a pic of a 4puck however. The EXEDY stage 1 is worse than stock, smells worse when it burns and shifts like a pile of warm dog poop.

Hi guys,

Now that I've reached almost 75K miles on my 2003, I think it's time to swap out the stock cluth, hehe.

I've had cams and ~330 WHP since 35K miles too, so I'm happy with how it's held up. How much more is the Exedy twin vs the ACT? Will both have similar lifespans?

Thanks,

Did not want to spend that much either. I went with the Exedy Stage 2 Cerametallic. It chatters a bit into first but shifts nice and holds power well which you will find if you search the forums. I had AMS install mine. I went in there with the idea of ACT but AMS does not back them and recommended Exedy over all other. The Exedy Stage 2 cerametallic is around $600.

I was thinking about the Exedy stage 2 Cerametallic as well. I cant decide between it and the Exedy twin disc.

Exedy twins are in the $1500+ range nowadays.

ACT HD single discs start in the $479 range.
