Power steering is great if you doing less than 4mph and trying to line the car up on the track. After which it is completely useless

PS once rolling is a non issue. Everybody has seen vids of our Drag Evo going sideways 18 times down the track. Eric has no issues turning the wheel attempting to keep it in the groove.

I dont have PS on my 240sx drag car and have no issues with steering at speed. See THIS vid for an example.

I dont have PS on my 93 coupe either and I take this to track days. Entering corners at 120 mph with no issue.

one thing to take into account is also that the evo is much heavier than the 240, the steering ratio is much tighter on the evo & our steering wheel is a smaller diameter then on the 240

this is just my opinion, but i dont believe this mod is really designed to free up power, while it may accomplish this somewhat. i believe it is more suited for someone looking for extra space for a header/WG dump on a beeg turbo or someone looking to reduce as much weight as much as possible.

Charlie, that's an excellent point about the tighter rack on an Evo.

I pulled out the ps on my GSX back in the day and though it wasn't much more difficult to turn the wheel, it wasn't worth it for a daily driver. I found myself in a different situation than some statements made earlier would suggest, it was noticeable for me at moderate speeds when I did not have the added assist.

For a drag car, sure, go for it, but how many of us have dedicated drag cars? Oh yeah, I forgot evom is chucked full of ballers with endless cash and gt42r's sprouting out of their used parts bins. /sarcasm
