Just got my Cosworth 272 installed and tuned by TTP. Love them. The give you a nice mid range and they pull hard all the wy to my 7600 redline. Very Happy with them.

Are you upgrading your snail or staying with the stocker? I was curious of this question myself; thinkin bout upgrading the cams.

Are retainers and what not required with the Cos 272's?

I think I would upgrade the turbo before I upgraded the cams on a 9. There have been a bunch of dyno's but nothing very concrete. To me it appears the stock cams could still handle more airflow before being considered a bottle neck.

For the price of the cams and the time to install I think the money would be better spent somewhere else.

No one have any answers to this? I'm sorry if it's been discussed, but its not as plainly as it has been stated for the GSC S1's.

Thank You.

I've run both Cosworth IX and S1 IX cams without a valvetrain upgrade. No problems to date. However I'd pay very, very close attention to the revlimiter.

Cosworth and GSC recommend springs and retainers over 7606rpms limit.

We have not experienced any issues thus far with our TTP modified rev limits without upgrading springs and retainers.

Thank you so much TTP, look forward to ordering them, will let you know asap.

What rev limit have you taken the IX to on stock springs/retainers with the cossie cams or should I just keep it at 7606 and leave it at that?

Thanks

I haven't found a need to exceed 7849rpms on stock turbo.

That's what I needed to hear.

So it is obvious that the GSC S1's are less aggressive then the Cosworths then right? Between the two, the S1's will make me sweat less about potential damage from not having done the upgraded springs and retainers right?

What have been your results in tuning for both the cosworths and gsc's?
