Evo upgrades

I am building up my evo. Im shooting for 400-450 horsepower and was wondering what up grades should I consider. These are the mods I already have:

Turbo XS UTEC
Vibrant exhaust
Downpipe
testpipe
HKS Intake
Turbo XS manual boost controller
Boost/Exhaust/Oil gauge

your mbc sucks I'd change that

get cams, a 20g, meth, and a dynojet and you should be just fine

a retune of course would be in order

MBC = Manual Boost Controller. I'd recommend a Hallman MBC.

1) Choose if you want 400 or 450. Which is it?
2) What fuel do you want to use?
3) How much lag are you willing to endure?
4) How much do you want to spend?
5) Get rid of your MBC and UTEC
6) Realize that you are at over 5000' elevation, so you are losing around 15% of your power, so you have to work a lot harder to reach your desired power level than the rest of the country.
7) Join RMEVO.com if you want to get help from locals. We even have an expert flash tuner right in your town.

I have an Blitz Power Meter i-D & Blitz SBC-iD III Electronic Boost Controller waiting to be installed so I won't be using the turbo XS mbc anymore.

400 would be nice on gas pump right now this car is my daily driver. Well money wise I'm willing to spend a good amount per piece and im buying parts piece by piece. I want an turbo upgrade and want to spend no more than 1500 on the turbo alone.

First off, these 3 statements don't match at all:
1) I'm willing to spend a good amount per piece
2) I want a turbo upgrade
3) and want to spend no more than 1500 on the turbo alone

Ok, 1500 is less than a 20g-LT, which is the SMALLEST turbo upgrade there is. It costs $1700, and a full turbo kit will be at least 3k. The 20G-LT is less only because it's a bolt-on. Wanting 400whp on 91oct at 6000' elevation does not match with wanting to only spend $1500 on a turbo either.

To make 400whp (assuming Dynojet, which reads highest) on 91oct at your altitude, you'll need a GT35R with all supporting mods or something close to that size.

For an 03 to make 400hp on stock turbo is much impossible. You'll need a turbo upgrade. At lease a 20G of some sort. You'll need to add an upgraded fuel pump to your list as well.

Read the whole thread. he already said he wants to do a turbo upgrade. We've also already established that he's on 91oct and at very high altitude, both of which make it much more difficult and much too difficult for any 20g. A fuel pump will be just one of MANY mods he will need.

FPgreen a.k.a "20g-lt" can be had direct from forced performance for less than $1700.00 especially if you return your stock turbo as a core....Call up forced performance and talk to them, that is your only turbo option under your price range but still may not net you 400whp due to your other variables.

His stock 03 turbo is pretty worthless in terms of making a 20g-LT.

Im just saying he needs to contact Forced Performance because I have seen them purchsed direct from them a lot cheaper than others sell. The 03 turbo probably wouldnt be considered a good core therefore he wouldnt get additional money off but I know they sell from FP cheaper than $1700.00 without a core..

dont argue all the time

Wasn't arguing - was providing fact.

Haven't seen FP selling 20G-LTs for less than the normal price, but if they do, then that's great, however, I haven't seen people mention it before. On the site, it's listed at $1695. You're saying FP will sell them for less if you call?

My bad I forgot to list that I have a Walbro 255 fuel pump. Also I have seen more than one turbo, alone, that I could get for $1500 or less.
