SSQV is bad. at least it was for my evo. when i would rev till redline then let go, my car would almost stall out. it also ran like shat. so i swithched to a turbosmart adjustable and its friggin awesome. i still get the swoosh sound(not as loud as SSQV) but its still sounds good and the recirc. keeps my turbo spoolin at the same time. my evo is running so much cleaner and i love it

The only problems Ive had was the rubber hose that connects the HKS uicp to the OEM licp ripped and I started having boost problems and the car would bog down a bit because I did not have mine recirculated.I ordered a replacement hose from Samco which worked and solved my problem.I have since gone a different root and have decided to sell mine.Do your research and see what BOV will work best with your plans for your car.HKS does make some nice items you have to admit though.Good luck!

Jeez man everyone comes out for a thread like this my god.

Any blow off valve that vents to atmosphere (VTA) will not be good for mass air flow (MAF) type engine management like the OE evo system. This is because the MAF is located just after the air intake filter, and when you vent the charge air, the ECU thinks it is consuming more air that it actually is.

If you run speed density, VTA valves are not a problem. People bashing HKS's valve because it doesn't work well on a MAF system is ridiculous. Think about it.
