I bought an evo 9 about a month ago...It was used slightly,i can tell the previous owner had a few mods..The intake box was not fully attached,and i found a homemade boost controller as well..My question is,i have noticed here lately that the car falls on its face once i go into fourth..1-3rd are all great gears..Fourth seems crappy..Is this normal,How can i tell if the cars has ever been flashed..I was starting to think that that they turned the car back to stock,sold the parts..But left the ecu flashed which may be causing something weird..Any suggestions??Justin

 

What do you mean by 4th gear seems crappy?Maybe you can go to a local tuner that does ecu reflasing and maybe they can help you with that.Did you buy the car from a dealer or a private party?If there is anything wrong with the car you may still have a warranty.Also if you bought the car from the dealer aren't dealers supposed to inspect trade ins?

 

What i mean is that it seems like there is no power..But, it just started..Seems like theres this rush of power,and then as soon as i go into fourth gear..Power is gone..But seems ok again in fifth..Its realy strange..I was first thinking boost leak..But, i am not sure..Justin

 

When i had a TBE, intake and MBC on a stock map, 4th gear would just FALLL on its face, VERY noticeable. I bet it's something with the computer, don't beat on it and get it retuned ASAP.
