ugh ohh boost creep
ugh ohh boost creep
Well I hope I am not one of the unlucky ones who is suffering from boost creep because of an ebay o2 housing. First things first here is the EBAY o2 i purchased

I am using a hallman pro rx to controll boost. Before all this when the car was stock i was seeing around 1.2-.3 bar in 3rd and 4th gears. Now I am seeing .9 or 1.0 bar till about 5500 when the boost will begin to creep up to 1.4 in 3rd and 1.5 in 4th. I have the boost controller turned almost all the way down. I have heard of ppl adjusting the wastegate to tapper the boost creep and was wonder how to go about that. Is it just a nut on the top of the waste gate that I should loosen.
thanks
Paul

To adjust the WGA you need to first remove the pin from the arm to the housing, then loosen the nut, turn the rod to reduce pretension on the wga, reattach the rod, install pin, tighten nut. continue to do this until you notice your boost come back down. I'd just bring it pretty much as far loose as you can and set it, that way you should avoid further issues if heat is an issue in your area.

Ok great thanks for the advice. I am aware of ppl having some creep issues with ebay o2's but mine had the hole fairly large. It wasnt restrictive.
Anyway i am going to try the WGA adjustment first

If there is room to port out the O2 housing hole then port it out. Make it as big as you can w/out ruining it.
I don't know why you would want to mess with the WGA if it wasn't a problem before you put on the O2 housing. loosening it will only make boost less responsive as the flapper will open more easily now.

I dont even want to take the chance of having to take off the housing and then put it back on only to hope i ported it enough. I am just going to order the TTP housing. No boost creep with those right.
I was going to adjust the WGA but uglyevo is right. It was working fine before and will makethe boost less responsive. Kinda lose lose situation.

I had boost creep problems also with the Megan unit but only in the winter in cold weather. I get 0 boost creep now. We'll see what happens this year when it gets cold again. Should be better for me now bc im not holding boost that good since i put Cosworth cams in
