so i am currently looking at a specific evo to buy. he is a local older flella that has a RnR racing gt30r turbo kit on it with bigger intercooler and the whole shibang. he has paper work for all of it now there is only two things that worry me.

first it idles ruff, reasoning said it was becuase of the bigger turbo, and a stock MAF, didnt make sense to me. second thing would be the fact that when i get on it i blew the I/C piping off the TB he has standard clamps no t bolt clamps little worried what would you guys think or suggest??? he wants 23,900.00 i will offer him alot less but does anyone really no why it idles ruff

 

Is it an 8 or 9 how many miles?

 

the t bolt clamps will fix the ic piping and maybe it idles ruff cause of..... cams??

 

its an evo 8 with 39k miles on it

and he said there arent any aftermarket cams. the shop said becuase of the bigger tubro and stock MAF didnt make sense??? i personally think it was a bad tune. hit put down 350 to the wheels with that turbo ithoguht it would put down more, also he has it set to only boost to 16psi

 

no cams either, he has ecu-tek tuning, i think he just needs a good solid tune by big al or just ams..

 

yea, its probly all in the tune. if you really worried about it, do a leakdown test

 

yeah i have a boost leak tester he can use...


do yall suggest him getting rid of the ecu-tek and just going with a flash from ams or big al ?
