VIII and IX Intercoolers - are they they identical?

Hi, folks. I've been told by a respected vendor that VIII and IX ICs have different endtanks. Is that correct? Thanks!

I don't feel comfortable disclosing the name of the shop, but let's just say that they're a banner advertiser and are treated as "Gods" on this forum.

I've been told the exact same thing. Not exactly sure if it's true though. Someone has gotta know for sure.
