There may be a how-to but it's so easy you don't need one. Look for two 24mm bolts on the diff. Intuitively, one (upper and facing the front of the car) is the fill while the one facing the rear is the drain. I have faith in your ability to figure it out.

Well I changed my tranny fluid with OEM Super Diaqueen and unfortunately I'm still getting the infamous 5th gear grind on my EVO 9 with 16,000miles... should I try syncromesh or just try to get it warrantied?

i know this thread is a couple of years old but ill revive it anyway.

i did a search on fluids because i will be changing mine. i got my evo @ 26k miles. i already did an oil change using mobile 1 oil. next will be the tranny and diff.

mitsubishiparts.net carries the oem replacement but i dont know if i can get those locally. shops carry redline fluids here in vancouver though.

how are your evo's now? did you stay consistent using the saame fluids?

i have a question, it might be stupid, but i rather ask before doing something that might damage my car.
i wan to change all the fluids on my evo 9 mr and after reading a lot of threads, it seems like red line and amsoil are the best options.
i cant get amsoil here in mexico, so im looking to buy red line.

my question is: would it be ok to use the red line mix on the 6 speed tranny?
because right when i was about to buy it, i read the description and it says (5 speed cars only)

this is the site: http://www.maperformance.com/redline...k-evo-dsm.html

bump for good info... none of the original posters chimed in. As for oil, I'm using Mobil 1. I see everyone says 5 quarts for the EVO 8... I was told the IX only requires 4.5 quarts... can someone chime in and clarify this?

it varies from person to person

because of the oil cooler the car takes approximately 4.8 qts when completely drained
