What is the typical price for a new 4G63 shortblock for an VIII? Factory assembled OEM everything (not including shipping).

THats who I'm calling on to see if their "below cost" price is really worth having as a spare part - just in case, or for selling if not needed.

I had one huge scare that luckily turned out to be nothing, but I know what it would feel like to have the bottom end go since I actually thought I was there, so having a spare shortblock in the toolbox seems like a good idea really

 

i just bought one for 2700and some change, that includes taxes

 

So $1800 would be worth it for a spare part? I was thinking like $900 but the parts guy swears thats below cost
