Yes, a 50-shot should give around 90whp. It also can be added to an Evo safely if done properly and managed properly. However, this guy has no business getting within 100 yards of a nitrous bottle, so I think it's a very poor idea.

nitrous is fine... needs to run rich with slightly lower timing....

the car will run a little slower off the bottle, but will be safer and the nitrous will make more power tuned like that

Sucks cause I was worried about a 50shot when my friend with a LS1 has a 150 with stock internals.

Maybe so but your friend isn't "stacking" power adders. Hence he can run a bigger shot relatively safe.

that LS1 (5.7)also has almost 3 times the displacement as your 2.0 EVO so I'm not suprised he is running a 150shot. That amount of n2o isn't unheard of one a stock motor with a good tune and the correct failsafes.

FWIW, I've designed and installed a custom direct port n2o system a while ago on one of my vehicles. It ran a dedicated fuel system setup on carb pressure with its own pump & regulator. It was very stealthy, nobody had any idea I was spraying unless I told them. Not to mention it was very reliable, I ran dozens of bottles thru that stock motor w/o a single n2o related issue. This was on a 2.8l 6cly engine with a crappy manifold & head design but I was still able to run between 96-150hp worth of n2o on a bone stock motor. DOn't listen to people who tell you n2o (NOS) will blow your engine up or whatever. Its likely they have never used it before and only got their info from the internet or maybe their "friends" who used it but didn't know what they were doing and blew their **** up.

If installed and used correctly its the best bang of the buck power adder around. I would still be using n2o do this day on all my cars if it wasn't for the fact that is $5-$6 per pound and refilling the bottle everytime you want to go to the track is a real PITA.

i never said it would blow your engine, i just said that it would eventually cause problems, im not saying that it would go right away. i have over 50 passes on a direct port 500 shot. All im saying is if you dont know how to tune it can be dangerous. The only reason i posted was to save this kids engine. Going off his first post i would not recomend n02 for him. Oh and nos sucks NX FTW.

i would highly suggest nitrous if setup properly...get a dynotune window switch...get a nx kit with bottle warmer at a very minimum...start with a 35 shot, get your afr's set and then go from there...

agreed, it's amazing how in so few words somebody can make it very clear they do not qualify.
