CBRD 2.3 shop project car progress..

here are some up to date pics..

in the midst of some 2.3 liter builds and clients cars we have had little time to work on our project car...

having made a consistent 450whp on pump gas at 23.5-24.5 psi on our mustang dyno.... (486whp at 26psi on 35% C16 pump mix) we decided we wanted more..

our goal is 500whp on pump on our mustang dyno (a stock evo 8 makes between 194-204whp)

JAM (jackson auto machine) did some experimental headwork on our motor....

Blouch put a larger compressor wheel in the awesome AMS 35R turbo kit.. and sourced us a .82 5 bolt hotside...

ETS supplied us with their 4" FMIC, which surprisingly required almost NO trimming to fit behind the bumper beam..

and our new CBRD Lighweight Racing Radiator (8.8 lbs with a fan, compared to the stockers 19.8 lbs).... more information on that in the vendor announcements..

so here you go..

notice also the swaintech coatings on the manifold, turbine, etc.. .covered by saran wrap to prevent us from finger printing her... noone ever said we were **** did they??

You can see the ETS behind the bumper bar... we shaved just a slight amount from the corners of the bumper bar, and the two attachment points for the 10mm bumper bolts..

it also lined up PERFECT with our AMS licp, and our upper IC PIPE.... we are very impressed..

I hope you all enjoy!!

more to come soon...

cheers

Chad B

curious about the battery ... they are filled with water or battery acid type stuff correct ? do you think laying it flat will hurt it holding a charge or maybe the life of the battery do to the fluid not resting in the cells as designed ?

Thanks everyone..

reason stock MAF is on the car, is to see how much power we can make with it...

The car is being photoshot by a Major magazine publication shortly, and they want it with the maf setup...

we have an AEM on the shelf...

If you wanted to be supremely **** you could take some more weight out of the front of the car. Just replace the four heavy, wide T-bolt clamps on the compressor inlet with ordinary wormgear hose clamps.

There's no pressure there, so you don't need uber-heavy duty clamps...

Meh, T-bolts look way better, plus it'll prevent any vacuum leaks between the filter and turbo.
