Buschur metal shifter bushing help!?

So im installing my buschur metal shifter bushings, i got the old rubber ones out, and went to slide on the new metal one, and i can only get it to slide on about 3/4 of the way.

and believe me i pushed really really hard to get it to go the rest of the way, and no luck.... is there a trick to this?? i just dont want to break anything.

any help would be great, im working on it right now.

thanks

Yes they work, I engountered the same problem you did so I took a c-clip expander and made it slightly wider so that it could slip right over the bushing....

I had the same problem you did when I went to install mine, and fought with them for hours when I first put them on.

Then I realized there's a specific order in which you have to put everything back together. After that, I installed them in less then two minutes.

Simple and easiest way I did it was take a very small hammer and tap it into place very lightly. If you do this, you should be able to get everything in place and done in about 15-20 mins.

I usually just clean up the cable eyelet with a sand paper roll and a dremle and then press them in with a C clamp.
