That's a bit harsh. TRE is a one-man show. He has one phone number and he's the only one available to answer it. So it he's elbows deep into a trans I'm sure he's not gonna drop everything to take a call.

However, I have spoken to him about the lack of communication and how he needs to have a receptionist or at least an answering machine. He agreed with me on that part.

Imagine how many people call just to shoot the ish with him about their tranny problems...I can see why he's reluctant to answer the phone.

Why don't AMS and buschur use dog boxes?

The negative comments are interesting. If anyone has time to PM me their personal experiences I'd appreciate it. At this point I'm just going to let Donald decide what he wants to do with his transmission (MR with a broken tcase and center diff). It's a 6-speed that probably needs a set of center diff gears and the torque tube thing replaced to begin with and then possibly other 6 speed improvements may be implemented. I've read alot of Jon's posts concerning the 6 speed and he seems to know his stuff. When I talked to Jon yesterday on the phone, our conversation really confirmed that.

i have used both, TRE and Shep.... I love my Shep trans, shifts smoother than my TRE did, also customer service is better with Shep. Sure TRE is good, but I prefer Shep.

maybe because they are going for 10k now for a decent dog box? Also the stock trans has proven to hold the abuse with no issues. The only concern now would be the gear ratio with 160's in the 1/4 being above 10k on a 26" tall tire
