Max boost on 100 octane?

I currently have a BR stage 1 and about to port and polish the exhaust manifold and get megan 02 housing. I plan on a retune on 100 octane and was wondering what the max amount of boost i can run? what are some of you guys running with a similar set up?

Wouldn't go higher than 28 on race gas. I am running 22 on pump with my Stage 1 mods.

You just have to tune it and see what it will take without knocking. It all depends on many different factors, how your car reacts to knock, effective octane at the motor, timing advance, etc. For the most part 26-28psi is probably what you're looking at on 100 oct.

Detonation is (mostly) a function of boost pressure AND ignition timing. This being the case, there is NO answer to how much boost can be used with a specific fuel, only how much boost can be run before the ignition timing has to be retarded to a point where increases in power are not realized.

Thats true, higher octane allows you to increase boost but it also allows for more advancment in timing. I know on my talon we are going to tune for 50-55lbs of boost on VP import.

While racing at the 1/4 mile I had my turbo on the Evo9 spiking to 30-31psi for a second and then rapidly droping to about 21-22 by red line.

I don't suggest going that high as I think yoiu are really not making any more power after 26-28psi.

Add temperature to this mix and you have a three legged stool than will stand on its own.

How much boost can be run will be determined by these three variables; time, temperature and pressure.

Start high and work backwards.... just kidding.
