losing boost?

losing boost?

right now i im tuned at 22.5 psi when i boost sometimes i hit 22 , mostley im hitting 17-19 psi i know the boost controller is working right cause i will hit 22 sometimes but im running stock bov on the evo 8 and startin to think its the bov and could be leaking is there a way i can test it or is that one of the reasons it could be doin that all my intercooler piping is on good as well

It could be a couple of things. If you are in 1st through third gears you may not achieve as high a boost level as you would in 4th or fifth, The stock turbo tends to peak and then taper down a couple of PSI. And yes the diverter valve or your boost controller could also be having an impact on this condition.

any recomendations on a bov for a injen upper and lower intercooler set up where the flange was i had a ssqv that i couldnt fit to recurculate.. i was looking at the agency bov

i have not had any problems with my stock BOV as of yet. but AMS piping is my route with an HKS SSQV BOV.

It has nothing to do with the BOV. You see different boost levels, because our boost hits different levels in different gears at different RPMs.

Krazirob, why in the world would you spend the money to downgrade your car by going from the JDM MR DV to the HKS SSQV?

no, go with the JDM MR BOV.. i had the HKS SSQV for awhile and after switching i found out how much of a piece of crap the HKS was.. go with the JDM MR BOV and ull be set

dose the evo 9 bov have the same mouting as the plastic pos evo 8 bov ... and how many pounds is that evo 9 good to

It's good up to approximately 24psi.
