you can have an aggresive tune even with 20 pounds, thats what you're not understanding... boost is only 1/2 of the battle....

if he has you very lean its just as dangerous as running too much boost.

yes exactly, myc ar was bought used too, and there was no boost gage in it, however there was a mbc in the car already...and hte maps were all f'ed, thx to mellon to fixing all that ..but car was boostin to high when i got it too....so i would suggest crankin that down, and not maxin out the boost until you get a tuner to pull the map and check it all out for you first......any gages in the car?

You need Alky for 25. Or a upgraded IC...or both. Don't forget the head studs and fuel pump. Good lord I hope he has all of this.

It can run 25 PSI all day with no knock stock as long as you pull enough timing out of the map.

mine got tuned 25 psi without knocking, then got turned down to 23 psi for safety. So it is possible to run 25 psi without knocking.
But i do not like 25 psi on stock internal engine. It makes me feel more comfortable, if its 23 psi max.But maybe just me.

What's he need it at 25psi for?

If it's a daily driver mind as well put it as low 20ish.
