Unhappy Please HELP! Mini Fuse Taps

Can anyone please tell me how they are tapping into their fuse box for gauges, radar detectors or whatever. I can't find anyone that has "mini" fuse taps. Everyone seems to carry the full size ones, but the minis are almost non-existent. I was all excited when I found a set at pep boys, but they were the slotted kind where you slide the end of the fuse through it. Unfortunately that did not work for some reason. I wasn't getting any voltage at all on it. I am trying to avoid splicing into existing wiring if at all possible. I am pulling my hair out on this one, PLEASE, PLEASE help.

Thanks

The slotted ones don't work because the fuses are recessed and there is no room for the tap. I haven't seen any of the other type but am not sure they will work either.

I used a fuse tap for a normal sized blade fuse. It will fit, with some gentle coaxing. Certainly nothing wrong with cutting it a little too, if you have some nice metal shears.
