Joe P Manual Boost Controller mbc

Just put my Joe P mbc in. Hooked it up right to the nipple off of the turbo. Not a good idea. It will spike on average 1.5 psi to 2.00 psi before settling. I would recommend using a pressure source off of the manifold. I believe that the pressure is to sudden for the controller off of the turbo. Hooking it up to a source off the manifold like inbetween the manifold and blow off vavle would be better and more stable. Still have to change mine up, but I will let you know the results with the new setup.

I disconnected the two hoses on the turbo, and ran a pair of lines from there up to beside the battery/fuse block area. I mounted the JoeP MBC under the fuse block, for maximum stealth. I do not see any spiking, and boost progresses smoothly to 20psi and hangs out in that area to redline.

Thanks for the info. Think I will just make sure my connection is tight on the wastegate. The 3/16" hose did go on kind of easy and I think the stock hose is a little smaller than that.

I have sucess. Hooked it up using a tee connector off of the blow off valve. Zip-tied and clamped all fittings for a good tight seal. I was displaying a CEL for a while but it went away after I checked all of the plugs, i.e. Fan plug, Maf plug, and Factory solenoid plug. Took all that stuff out to make an easy install. I will have to say that the Joe P is really easy to adjust. I went from the almost all the way out position making adjustments of 1 full turn untill I was at 1.2 bar (17.64 psi). Then I made one 1/4 and one 1/8 turn and I was at 1.35 bar peak (19.845 psi). It will tapper off alittle at around 5000 rpms to 1.25 bar (18.375 psi), but this is pretty normal I assume. I am really happy with it and plan on getting their new electronic control unit. Will let you know how that goes once I get it.
