You didnt do a very good search then. The 3065 is a 35R/30R. It spools much closer to a 35R than it does a 30R.
In order, the fastest spooling to slowest looks a little bit like this.
Stock turbo, FPGreen/20GLT, GT3071, GT3076, 50trim, FP3065, GT35R, yada.
The GT3076 and 50trim spool time is really up for debate, so some people may interchange that order.
As for Buschur's 50trim, I think he stopped messing with it because he thinks the 20GLT/Green is really the only turbo upgrade worth putting on the car other than a FP3065 or GT35R.
We did play with the 50trim kit for a little bit and pretty much called it a wash after the 50 trim and 20G-9LT (aka: Green) comparrison was shown.
The 20G-9LT makes just about the same power and flows the same amount of air as the 50 trim but carries a much cheaper price tag at $1700 (+install kit for Evo 8 $149). The 50 trim comes in at $2995.
I have talked more people out of the 50 trim kits than I could tell you because it REALLY doesnt make sense to make someone spend more money for the same performance. Its not how we operate. Same goes for the 3076, etc...
Simply..... We offer the 50 trim kit because it was asked for.
I see the turbo upgrade line as this: 20G-9LT, 3065, 35R,etc.....
The 3065 on my car made 20psi at 4400rpm with the 2.0. The purpose of the 3065 was to have power close to a 35R with spool like a 30R. The 3065 and 35R are REALLY close in power until right around 30psi then the 35R will take over and pull away.
For an all around FUN street turbo I would recommend the 20G-9LT. It still allows that initial "This car is FUN to drive!" reaction out of MANY Evo owners while carrying a rather inexpensive price tag. The wait on the 20G's are down to roughly 2-3 weeks.

But what about the people that want to run straight pump gas or race gas? Wouldn't the 20g be a waste of money then?
Absolutely not. A guy on 91 made 380whp, guy here in NJ made 400whp on 93 octane. Stock like spool with 400whp potential on pump gas is pretty awesome. A 50trim on pump gas will make a nice 400 number, torque will be very weak and spool is much slower.
