There are many other factors involved in high rpm shiftability besides complete disengagement. I do feel that the clutch was fully disengaging, for the record.
My evo has over 20+ open track events, over 200 dyno pulls and countless R&D miles on the street. "On occasion" was meant for 8k. It sees 7800 almost every day. No lock-out issue ever.

Of course that is my experience with my own RRE no-name.

Gotcha. I didn't even realize that was you that posted that. There is a lot of variability in the transmissions as well. Some may be more tolerant of different discs than others. Mine was a cranky POS and simply wouldn't shift with the big single disc.

Well, I am glad to hear all of the positive responses on this. It seems to be the type of clutch I am looking for. I am by no means a racer, but I do have fun with my car, and the stock clutch is too weak of a link in my opinion.

As for the above quote. Why would you want a weaker clutch with the 6 speed?

4th gear thru 6th gear are fairly weak on the 6-speed. In theory, having a 2900 lb PP will allow the clutch to slip before the torque gets high enough to overstress those gears. In practice, I'm not sure it would help because fatigue can slowly kill those gears without a big overstress.
