intercooler
I heard that the best intercoolers in the whole wide world are sold on eBay.
If I had the money I would go ETS, but that is only because I like to support local companies (they are 15 minutes away). In addition, I have never heard anything bad about their customer service.

Hey livin about 30 minutes from Buschur Racing im a mark for their parts. I say go for the Buschur Race front mount intercooler its about 759.00 bucks I had one on my evo with their upper and lower piping on the stock turbo what a difference it made from stock plus if you go to the website they have write ups on their front mounts
EDIT: Oh yeah and one more thing David has tested the ebay FMIC and proved it is worthless but hey you get what you pay for i guess.

Nisei has proven their performance, not only that DB (a respected competitor) has even tested the old Nisei "Street" core against their BR "Race" core and the results were a wash. Nisei Engineering's NEW "Competition" FMIC is suppose to be even BETTER than their old design. Having LESS pressure drop and keeping outlet temps STABLE as well.
Here is a couple of things for you, if they were the BEST... 1) How come you can't find any data logs of temps & pressures outlet readings for the any of ETS cores? compared to stock or other cores? 2) Why does ETS make so many models??? If their design (fin configuration, density, etc.) of their cores were done properly then shouldn't it cover a greater range of upgrades? OR are they saying that each core is going to have bettter throttle response than the other? Such as the 3" is going to spool "X" rpm faster than the 3.5" and the 3.5" is going to spool "X" faster than the 4" and so on and so forth. OR is it a claim/sale that max hp= FMIC size restrictions.
If anyone says the hp = size restrictions of your FMIC then you've got it wrong! Simply because there is more than one way to make HP. If you think I'm wrong then answer this... If there were 2 cars making 400whp running 2 completely different set ups... car "A" running a stock turbo & car "B" running a 35R kit. Who needs the better intercooler?
Answer: Car "A" because in order to create the flow needed to produce 400whp on a stock turbo. The stock turbo needs to spin much faster (than a 35R)AND will generate more heat which needs to be exchanged.

Your Ebay intercooler is a piece. Any way you cut slice dice it you GET what you pay for. I bought an AMS intercooler for $750 and could not be any happier. Quality is SUPERIOR! AMS FTMFW!
You sir are a newb. What fact do you have that yours is so much better and mine is a piece besides you hearing it. Your AMS makes no more power then the ebay core. Only difference is that yours says AMS on it and you paid 7 times more than I did. Also AMS built yours and mine was built in China. You don't see cheap parts in my sig. I am one for supporting vendors but $700+ for an intercooler is out of my budget at this point and not worth it for what I have. So the "piece" that is on my car right now worked out better than I thought it would have.
Yes you sound like you know a lot by just calling it a piece. No time slips or dyno numbers? Whats up with your car? How many evo's do you work on a week? How many parts have you tested that allows this mouth of yours to keep going? Money doesn't exactly buy you speed.
Look at my sig. I apparently do. You sound like one of those guys that goes out and buys a large turbo kit and then gets walked by somebody like me.

I got enough money to buy a good intercooler and not have to worry about it! Enjoy your PIECE!
