you are going to need it, because it has a sensor mounted on it. im sure you can move teh sensor but then itall be dangling

Is the Intake Manifold support neccesary

I am in the process of putting my engine back together and I am wondering if anyone has ditched that big bracket that supports the intake manifold. It's not that I am looking to save weight. It is just in the way when ever I need to get my hands back there. It seems like the 10 bolts that hold it on should be enough. I don't think any aftermarket manifolds use this. Any experience is welcomed. Opinions are toleated

I never ran it on any DSM I ever had the IM off of, without any problems ever. Make a ziptie bracket for the sensor.

Anything that makes getting back there easier is a good thing.

Thanks that is what I was thinking. It is a very light weight piece to begin with.
