Question for people who installed RMR air filter kit

I just got this today and I installed it myself. After putting everything in according to the instructions, I noticed some of the sensor cables are touching the intercooler piping (the metal part). I was wondering if it will melt the shealthing or tubing of the sensor?

Good question - I would call RMR tomorrow to find out. I had them install mine while I was at their shop.

I don't think you can tell from this pic...

Has anyone installing the RMR intake noticed any power loss or change in driving characteristics. I can't tell if my car is just running smoother or if the car is slower since I've installed it.

The intercooler piping will not get hot enough to melt anything.

If it does then you have some pretty damn serious problems under there...

I zip tied the wires out of the way. At first I installed the MAS upside down and that resloved any problems od the wires being in the way because now the wires were on the opposite side of where they originally were, but I was not comfortable having the MAS upside down because I;m not positive about whether or not this position would have a negative effect on the car, so I changed it back to the original position. Does anyone know for sure if it's ok to install the MAS upside down? Also if you feel a loss in power you're probably correct. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and then turn the ignition on for 15 seconds. The car will not start or anything. Then let the car sit for 30 mins and reconnect the negative battery terminal. Start your car and let it idle for 5 mins, and then drive the car like you stole it. That will fix the problem of power loss. You need to reset the ECU so the computer can relearn and adjust for mre air flow.

Loose Wires

The intercooler piping will not get hot enough to melt anything.
I have to agree with that. Since I've installed the intake I have checked several times and the loose sensor wires sheething looks as good as new.

Yes, there are other posts regarding idle problems. Most people seem to think it may have something to do with the BOV.

Yea my idle was ~1100 rpm for about 80 miles. After that the ECU adjusted.

Although my boost pressure was the same, the car felt sluggish untill it reached 4k-5krpm. Under that, the car had some low end torque loss, I could tell. I took it off, put the stock box back on, and enjoyed the midrange torque a lot more!

Yes I have felt a power loss. I feel the car lags to go around 60-80....

NOTE: I also felt the same thing with my other car when I put a Cold Air Intake on it.

Yea the open air filter is only good for high rpm gains. I can modulate the throttle best with the stock air box on.

It figures, now I just need to find a mod to bring back that mid range power...
