only one cam???

im new to the forum and i own a 06 Evolution IX MR i have 380 whp and the tune is custom done by mzm and i had a question i just bought the tomei log turbo manifold because i blew up the JIC tubular manifold. Now when i went to order the cam gears from tomei they said that i only needed the exhaust side cam gear because the car has mivec. now the question i had for you evo gurus is this true do i only need one of the cam gears???

yes, mivec is valve timing that is always adjusting, so if you put on a cam gear and adjust it you will break your valves. im a tech at lexus and we had a kid up aem cam gears from a supra on his is300 well lexus has VVTI varible valve timing with intellagence, and he ended up having ot buy a new motor.
