Speedometer broken?

Hey everybody, my speedo will sit there in the driveway and say that im going 100+... While it's doing this it's steadly racking up mileage on my odometer!

Can somebody please tell me how to disconnect this so I don't have 5000 miles on the car by the time I can get a new VSS? (I think I found the connector.. On the back of the tranny under the shifter cables? But I cannot figure how to disconnect the connector.. IDK if that's even the connector.)

That is the connector on the trans, from what i remember you can just unclip the harness from the sensor. I'm pretty sure there is one bolt holding in the entire sensor.

Yeah one bolt holds the sensor in.. but if you dont feel like unbolting it theres always the easy way of breaking off the top part so it doesn't work, i wouldn't suggest this but i know it works because when putting my trans in wasn't watching and it snapped off..

Update..

Well in trying to get the vss connector off, I think I messed up the connector (It's still connected but now the speedo just plain doesn't work)

I thought that I had my problems solved and that all those miles wouldn't keep adding up on the car when it was running much slower than said speed

But my AEM thinks that the car is standing still now! (My launch limit is 6000 and my car doesn't even make 28 psi until like 5300!)

So now instead of making 515whp at 7800 I'm probably only making like 380whp at 6000

I guess what I need to do now is replace the vss and the connector so that my rev limiter doesn't hit at 6000 thinking that the car is standing still!

Here's the dyno sheet to show you guys what I mean.. My rev limiter is hitting at 6000 and look how little power I am making around this number of RPM... This sucks
