Hi all,

Back in 2004, I broke the Cam Position Sensor on my 03 Evo. I bought a new sensor, but the wiring harness was not removeable for some reason, so I ended up doing an ugly electrical tape job. I took the 3 wires, and slid them onto the 3 prongs on the sensor, then taped it all into place. I know, it's ghetto. It actually held up for 3 years.

Recently, I started throwing the p0340 code again. I tried retaping the connection, but it's sketchy, and I throw the code again every few days. I've gone to a couple of dealers, but they claim that they don't have a connector with a 3 wire pigtail. They said I have to order the ~$800 engine wiring harness. Many have recommended that I go to a salvage yard to find a sensor and cut the connector with 3 wires. I've gone to one, they didn't have any Evos and the Eclipses and Gallants I looked at did not have a part that worked.

I will look at other salvage yards, but if anyone out there has a salvage Evo and could offer this part, it would be much appreciated. I'll pay some reasonable amount of course. I bought a spare Cam Position sensor, so another option is to hack it up and solder the wires directly, but since the prongs are recessed, it may be difficult.

To clarify, i have the sensor, but if someone has the connector that plugs into it along with a few inches of wire, I could splice/solder/tape the wires and make a much more solid connection.
