Good Clutch?

i have an 03 EVO VIII with 47,300 miles on it and yesterday the clutch started slipping. the reason i think its slipping is because flooring the gas @ bout 2500 RPMs, it hesitates. it shows its getting full boost but its not pulling as hard and sometimes it would just slip around 4000rpms then grab again around 5000rpms. that was in 4th gear. when m in 5th gear, as soon as i hit full boost, the rpms would just climb to 6-7000.
but what i dont understand is that its only doing this in 4 & 5th gears. 1,2,3 pulls hard.

if it is my clutch, what is a good clutch for street use i can buy without spending a lot of money. m kinda tight on cash rite now.

Oh and yes i did search but was still a little confused

These are the mods:

3"TBE
Nisie LICP
XSPower FMIC
Cone Air Filter
Hallman MBC set to 23PSI
Jester Tune

thanx in advance.

ACT HDSS

I have it sitting in my room. I hear its the best clutch for the money ($485) and its not a pain to daily drive. It also holds up to 475+ WTQ. That means you can launch and not worry about it slipping like the stock clutch.

The load is higher when you accelerating in higher gears, thus the tendency of more slippage. Just like when you floor it in higher gear, the car tends to boost a little higher than lower gears, because of higher load.

remember to get a light weight flywheel too. But for the money I'd go with the Act heavy duty with the street disk, HDSS-MB17 I believe is the part number for the clutch set.

If your flywheel is in good condition just get it resurfaced. If its to beat up and you cant resurface it, you can find a used stock flywheel in the for sale section for less than $100 if you need to.
