Looks like 1 and 4 had salt-water setting in there without use and corroded them.

Alot of my tranny bolts looked like that whan I changed my clutch. I figured after manufacture my car sat on the ship port collecting corrosive salt air before it was shipped by truck.

Let me guess. You have no spark plug cover and love taking it to the car wash.

Water got inside the engine. Even with the hood vent in place and the spark plug cover I have seen this before.

Yeah it does look like some water/moisture got to the top part of your plugs. BTW your plug gap looks pretty wide in your pictures. Did you get a chance to measure them?

I don't think that the BP8ES's are widely recommeded on here for the Evo VIII's. Probably for a fairly stock DD, either the NGK BPR7ES or the NGK BR7ES, would be a better bet, IMO. Gap them at .026". Torque them to 17-19 ft/lbs.

do a compression test bro!

the last time i had a misfire we did a compression test and then we find out that my cylinder 4 was low compression 140psi and the rest were 160's . I just ignore it then after a month KABOOOOM!!!! There you go bent/ stretched the rod bolts of the cylinder 4. It happen in a low speed below 3k rpm 2nd gear.
Do a compression check!!! if you find a low compression.....drain the oil and pull your oil pan and check your rod bolts and internals...
