I kinda figured this aswell with this adapter.

Bottom line is I wouldnt worry about it.

I kinda worry about it because before my rebuild it did not do this. and I had the same exact gauge. with the oil pressure sensor in the same place. So somethin has changed and I'm just trying to figure out what it is. The oil pressure used to be almost exactly steady and a constant rpm.

Just a stupid error on my part. It was the gasked to the oil pickup tube inside the oil pan. I used a bolt that was too long. so it bottomed out. which then wasnt putting near enough pressure on the gasket. SO it wasnt sealing properly. and I guess air was also being sucked up in there. So that caused my oil pressure to fluctuate A LOT. But I re did it the right way and now my oil pressure is relative to my rpm as it should be

Might want to take a good look at your bearings and find out if the lack of oil pressure caused any issues there, too.

Yeah I thought about that. how would I really do that though without taking a lot of the engine apart???

Just cut open your filter and look for specs of copper. Trace amounts is probably OK (2 - 3 specs) but any more then youv'e just cought it in time. To follow up, also send a smaple of oil to get analyzed.

You really don't want to drop the rod caps to inspect unless you have a new set of bearings, sized and ready to install.

Oh, if your lifters weren't ticking your pressure should probably have been good enough

yeah I mean there was pressure going on. it just wasnt stable. I mean it could go up to 80-100 psi at about redline. it was only in the lower rpm's that it kind fluctuated from 40-60psi
