Why we love mitsu motors... ouchie!
Ok, I have a problem with this and I hope I'm not out of line but there is another issue there. I don't see where there are any signs of an Alky issue but ofcourse I haven't seen the whole picture first hand. Chad is top notch but humor me for a second.....
I see the oil pump shaft separate from the front case. If you look at the pic below you will see that it's not in the pump assembly.
The end of that shaft is flattened in a spot where it slides into the oil pump through the oil pump sprocket. I think the oil pump gave out some how. Whether it was do to previous work done or just failure (yeah folks, it happens)

funny thing is, the car wasnt even under boost when she blew, my cousin shifted into 4th, low rpms, and the second he stepped on it she let go...
20,000 miles on halfass failsafe and still waiting for it to burn up so I can upgrade to a new engine.
Might be longer now that 4 counts of knock (or whatever I set it to) automatically equals 15 psi using a modified tephra patch

yasir, Chad told me about the alternator, its yours if you want it...has only 8500 miles on it
Secondly it doesn't surprise me ONE BIT that you werent in it when it happened. You'd be amazed how often this is the case.
Hey John Iam glad your car ended up in good hands non the less the shop was close by. Iam also running 100% meth and thinking about de-tuning the car for that same reason. Enjoy the new transplant.
thanks Jon...for my needs (driving the car 3 times a month lol) the exhaust, intake and tune at 23psi is plenty for me
Couldn't agree anymore. That's exactly how I feel.
