PLEASE HELP: Serp. Belt Tensioner Broke

I was trying to change from the shorter belt back to the original belt. I was rotating the belt tensioner not even all the way, and the wrench just broke the metal square on the tensioner. WTF? Is there another way to loosen the belt tension? Can i just take the bolt off the tensioner and take it off, i don't want to take it off and screw up whatever causes the spring action. I have no idea how the thing works(i'm trying to look this up in the cd repair manual).
Is it possible the dealership will replace this under warranty if i bring it in? (obviously can't drive it in) This thing deffinitely shouldn't break.

How the hell do i fix this?

There are two bolts that hold the tensioner on. If you take them both out it will come off without screwing anything up.

ok, which two. I see three, the one going through the center holding in a big brass washer, one to the right of that painter orange, and one smaller one behind the pulley that looks like it keeps the whole thing mounted.

I think there is one under the timing belt cover too. Dont take the one with the brass washer off. Should be 3 total.

Maybe it was three. It has been a while since I've pulled mine off. The one through the center only holds it to the motor, it does not hold the tensioner itself together. That was my concern when I took it off.

ok theres three holding it in. the one panted orange on the tension part, and 2 on the top and bottom of the mount part. The orange is off but the 2 on the mount can't be taken off because niether a small socket wrench or open ended wrench will fit in the area around the bolt. What happens if i take the one off with the brass washer that holds the tensioner together? Is there any other way to get the belt on? cause taking off the tensioner seems impossible with tools i have.

do you guys have the part number for the Serp. Belt Tensioner? This is the belt that spins the A/C, Alternator - right?
