Lightbulb over radiator intercooler piping ? !

this seems to me like the ultimate piping setup couldent get any shorter. i am considering doing mine this way except im pretty shure it would require hood modification or a custom cf hood still seems worth it to me. thinking if doing it vertical flow like the full race intercooler what do you guys think about this???

I think if this route was practical then we would already have a company selling them.

+1

The upper pipe is not a big restriction for us anyway, and I believe the current short route pipes that are on the market would in fact be shorter than what you have drawn into that picture.

The shortest distance between two points is a straight line... that's pretty much what the current short route pipes are. Your pic shows one with a 90° bend to come up and then a 90° bend to go in towards the TB... and a lot of headache just to make fit properly

that would actually be a worse design. long pipes don't usually mean a lost of power or increased lag. well at least something you'd never notice.

look t the new full race design notice how the piping has to go back down around and back up?? dosent seem good. but if you have it come right off the turbo like the current design and have it come directley off the top of the intercooler it is the absolute shortest route with only 2 bends. of course this is NOT for the person whom wants bolt in with stock battery and what not.this is for all out no compermise performance. would like to look into a custom radiator to allow it to be ran in between the radiator and upper radiator support.

You would still want to go around the side of the radiator, not above it. If you could figure out a way to route the piping straight out of the side of the top endtank that would be your shortest route.

yea that was the other option i was thinking of. it would be great to have a custom radiator that would allow that. but that would also mean eliminating the factory AC condensor. but who needs ac any ways

That is not the shortest route for an UICP. The shortest route is the design that AMS, Buchur and ETS use in conjunction with a mini-battery.
