Will an 03 evo see better hp increase than an 06 with 272 cams upgrade?

will the 03 see a higher increase from cams upgrade aside from the whole mivec tuning? i know base flash 06 are better but will a 03 see better WHP increase than an 06?

 

I am not sure that you can make a direct comparison between a IX vs. an VIII concerning cams, since only the exhaust cams are interchangeable. VIII intake cams won't work in the Mivec head.

 

the simple answer to your question...yes viii's take more liking to cams than ix's

mivec makes engineering a better cam than stock rather difficult or so it seems for the intake side of things

 

being that the 9 cams are more aggressive because of the mivec yes the evo 8 will make more power.

 

8 wont make more power than 9 vs numbers when there done. 8 will just benefit more from cams.

 

It would be close but I suppose that a good part of it would have to do with your tune.

 

i would GUESS that the VIII will see higher gains from before the cams, but the overall hp number between the VIII and IX will be similar because the VIII has less power to begin with. because of the mivec, the IX might see a few less hp increase, but as i stated before, the ending result should be the same or similar.
