The whole point of getting a 35R is to have massive topend, which you wont have, even on race gas with the stock cams, FMIC and other mods. Couple that with slow spool and you have a horrible powerband and a car that isnt fun to drive anymore.

A stock turbo car that is full bolt on and cammed will blow your doors off. Even on race gas, with stock cams, and other stock parts, youll get walked by smaller turbos which have boatloads more torque, better powerband and much better spool. Not to mention they will be more fun to drive. I know you want a turbo thats good on race gas but guess what, just about every turbo shines on race gas, even the stock turbos can run over 120mph on race gas. The Green can mid to high 120s too. These smaller turbos with full bolts on will make a 35R all stock look silly. I think you better reconsider your decision, because right now, its an awful one.
I understand the projected "upgrade" path, etc. I know how turbocharged vehicles work, as this is not the first one I have built. I understand the 35R will be laggy without all supporting mods..this is common sense. I didn't ask for gobs of information that I already know. I simply wanted to know if anyone on a 35R has made over 400whp on a pump gas tune with stock cams. If you have never done it, or do not have a similar setup, or ANY valuable information there is really no need to respond to my thread.

Although once you build your car it will kill most everything on race gas

I dont care if you built 10 turbo cars, that does not mean you know what youre doing, and judging from your choices here, you dont know what youre doing. Otherwise, you wouldnt be talking about doing a 35R on stock cams and the occasional race gas.

You wont find many people with dynos on 35Rs on pump gas on stock cams because its a retarded setup and most newbs even know not to run it like that. Who cares if it did make 400whp if the torque and spool are horrible. A 350whp stock turbo car will walk all over it, so whats the sense

If you do plan to do this, take a trip over to do NJ, and Ill have some full bolt on/cammed stock turbo cars that will show you just how bad that setup would be if you dont believe me.

Sorry for being harsh, but if you say you know what youre doing, why are you doing a setup that says otherwise. It just doesnt make sense to me or just about anyone else reading or replying to this thread.

if you install cam gears on the stock cams, you'll make ~+20 whp more up top..... i think in some cases, vishnu reported +30 @ 7,500!!

vishnu had a dyno compare a while back of oem cams & oem cams with adj gears set @ -5/-5.

vishnu used to market the hell out of his cam gears for stock cams, but a majirty of people went the cam route instead.

if your undecided on the cam route & intend on getting cam gears, install them cam gears on the oem cams & you'll make bette power up top while still using the oem cams & have stock drivability!!

Thats very, very optimistic. Also, most of the time if youre getting extra power up top from the cam gears, youre losing it someplace else. In his case, that would potentially mean even more lag and or less mid range. Cam gears are an alternative to put some power where you want it but its not a magical mod that "gives" you 20whp by any means.

Very true, all they do is shift your powerband. Turbo'd Hondas (GSR, Type R) might perform good w/stock cams, but not in our case. Do more research before putting that turbo together. Like I said before, u probably won't get many replies to your ? because ppl know it's pointless to run stock cams on that turbo. Do yourself a favor and call up AMS, Buschur, Full-Race, etc. and ask them. And if ur still stuck on using stock cams go ahead and waste your money on a setup that a stock turbo'd Evo would walk on.
