Question need some info on clutch upgrade

ok my clutch has been slipping A LOT and well its time for an upgrade.

so what would be the best clutch for street use, drivability, and price wise
or in your opinion whats the best period.

and with the installation of a new clutch do i have to buy extra parts to accommodate or is the clutch in one package?

sorry im not too educated in the clutch and tranny department so any help would be very much appreciated!

thanks in advance!

first post on evom? It would be easy to educate yourself on clutch and tranny choices here by doing a search on the topic(s).

IMO, the best clutch for street use, driveability and cost would be the stocker, or possibly the ACT street clutch with organic disc.

The best period is relative, depends on your power level and application.

Depending on which clutch you chose, you may need extra parts, like a new flywheel, bolts, etc.

Really, use the search and all your questions will be answered, and you might actually get educated in the process

How much torque are you putting out? Is your car stock? I would agree that the ACT line of street clutches are the best in terms of everyday driving. If your stock, or even mildly modded, check out there plain old street organic disc. They can be had for relatively cheap, about 4** shipped to your door. Call around to the different vendors and see what they have to offer. Also, depending on how mod happy you are, you can either re-use your stock flywheel (no biggy, works great), or get a light weight one, and once again, I would recommend the ACT ones.

As for what ive installed:
Apexi Turbo Timer
HKS Power Muffler
HKS Blow-off-Valve
SAMCO Sport Cold Air Intake

From what I've heard there has been some internal engine upgrades also. I've only had the car for a couple weeks so I haven't really gone into much.
I've been trying to get a hold of the first owner to save me some time but no luck yet.

He also changed the intercooler piping (not sure on the brand) (red piping if that helps for identifying),
belt (not sure on the brand either), and cam gears(AEM)

I would start by typing "clutch" in the search function and going from there. Not to be a dick, but thats where you need to start in a forum this big. You will find just about anything there. Also check out the Newbie section that also answers ALOT of very basic questions about your ride.

Yeah you've got cams. Or a bad misfire... . And good choice. Check out Nolimit motorsports here on the forums. They were giving me the best price so far. SpeedElement also always has the price of 500 shipped also.

errrr, i would personally stay away from an organic disc... lets be honest here, you guys know how most of us drive. organic has a hard time dealing with heat and will fail easily, especially an act... (speaking from personal experience on many different cars)

The only time the disc is going to fail from heat is if you slip it excessively . There are tons of people with organic discs that can launch their car properly without overheating the parts.
