Remove the drain plugs and drain the fluids, the plugs have magnets built into them to catch shavings that naturally occur in all transmissions, transfer cases/differentials. Metal shavings are normal especially in a new car, but chunks of metal (at least 1-2 mm square or larger) are not, if you can drop it on a table and hear it bounce, that's what I would call a chunk.
I just changed my fluids today see this post for details, https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...threadid=30389

I had plenty of fine shavings but no chunks.

I've had many cars with a manual transmission and all I've ever found on the magnetic drain plug has been a fuzz of metal where the drain plug magnet looks like its a furry catipillar, for the lack of a better description. Anything much more than that would bother me. I also like to use Amsoil gear oil in a manual transmission. It was the only thing that would keep a Saab transmission alive.

I had chunks of metals stuck on my tranny magnet. Brought it back to dealer and they assured me that everything is fine. They even talked to the pple at DSM.
