smoke out of the exhaust?

hi guys..

my friend was driving behind me the other day and noticed smoke, greyish blackish smoke coming out of my exhaust when i went WOT and even after i released..i was running my low boost setting on the boost controller so i know there is alot of unburnt fuel..also my car is tuned very conservatively with an 11.1 afr...
however i thought i would ask just to get a better understanding of what kind of smoke out of the exhaust is ok and what kind of smoke requires concern..

thanks in advance

p.s. car is a IX with every bolt on possible including AMS VSR and 750cc injectors...

black smoke=rich condition, or lack of cat convertor burning excess fuel.

as long as your afrs are in trim a little puff of smoke is better than none at all!

Perfectly normal... especially if you lowered your boost. If you have no cat, you'll probably get some sweet flames too, haha.

White smoke could possibly mean blowns headgasket, also blue smoke means you're burning oil.

My Mirage used to blow crazy blue smoke because my drain line for my turbo was restrictive and blew the turbo, and that ment blown turbine seals and LOADS of blue smoke... I've also ran it at 8:1 AFR with a blown coupler and had alot of black smoke...

But yeah a little black smoke isn't a bad thing...
