Having your cake and eating it too...quiet, but performance exhaust.

I've searched the forums for weeks regarding quiet exhaust systems, but came across this statement in a post yesterday and was wondering if the EVOM collective agrees? Seems like it'd be the ticket for a DD EVO owner to gain some performance and keep things relatively quiet as well:

If you want quiet and performance then get rid of the cat and the stock downpipe but continue to run the stock catback. Most stock turbo dyno's show the true bottle neck in the exhaust as the downpipe and cat. The difference in power between the stock catback and 3" exhaust is about 10whp and a little slower spool.
The other option for me would be a Buscher exhaust with Magnaflow muffler or something similar.

thx.

I bought the tanabe touring medalion for its quietness. It's a little louder than stock but not bad. It has an oval muffler on it and a resonator in the midpipe. I use a resonated test pipe too

I've been running the stock cat-back with a 3" dp and tp for a while. I love it.
