what is max boost?

On the dyno they start from about 2500 rpms in 3rd gear and the boost goes to 30psi

If i'm crusing down the highway and drop into third i only see about 22psi, and about the same from a dead stop.

So my question is, is my max boost 30 psi or less becuase when i drag race i can't get it to go to 30. and is it only going that high because of the load on the car.

i'm kinda wondering the same thing, but this is in different gears not on a dyno. i can only hit my max boost (19 psi) when i'm in 5th and 6th gear, i think sometimes in 4th also. when i'm in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd i can only hit about 12-15 psi. is this right or should i be seeing max boost in every gear?

Boost...al depends on fuel you are using......U can safely run 22 psi on 93 octane with out occuring damage.......If want to run higher need race fuel or meth/alky onjction with tune and can run up to 30-33 psi on stock block....after that asking for trouble unless engine built.....there is no max psi there is limitation on motor and fuel......

Higher boost faster fuel burns.......SO need higher higher octane so burns slower so dont blow motor......

also higher gears = more load

more load = more boost

Isn't that much boost (30psi) out of the stock turbos "Sweet spot?".

thats what i'm saying so if i want to hit at least 25psi i need to turn the boost up

i'm using alky so my boost levels are ok and safe.

Stock turbo can't hold 30psi for long...

Are you on meth or race gas? Otherwise you're gonna blow something very soon.

The stock turbo should be able to make highest boost at 3500-4000RPM in top gear

how are you controlling boost? You have a too large of a difference between the dyno and the street. Your boost controller doesn't sound like it's controlling very well.

+1 on the boost control. what kind of control are you using? manual or electric? im running the greddy profec bspec2 and its pretty accurate. i would suggest getting alky/meth injection to help you achieve higher boost levels
