drivetrain problem.. help...

I have a 05 Lancer Evo and the dealer replaced the clutch a few months ago. But it was not under warrenty but free of charge. And like a month later the Transfer case goes out. I heard that Evo transfer case goes out quite easily so i didn't even think of anything fishy. So i got the T-case replaced and was not under warrenty. But after i got the T-case replaced i have the same death whine like 1000miles after the T-case replacement. I didn't like the service they gave me on the dealer closes to me so i went to a different one and they said the clutch was installed incorrectly. i dont know how it is installed incorrectly. And they said they can't do anything about because another dealer installed it. So i took it to the same dealer that did the clutch job..And they have called a mitsu tech to examine the car and report to me wha the problem is.. Now, here's my question. Can a bad clutch installation job damage the T-case or the transmission? If they deny to do anything about it am i stuck and would i have to pay for everything even with a diagnois from another dealer saying that the clutch was installed incorrectly.? I am beginning to think that the 1st T-case went out cuz of the bad clutch job and now its repeating itself over and over. If this is the case wouldn't the dealer that did my clutch be responsible for the 1st T-case that went out?..

Im not sure how much impact the improper clutch install can have on a making a bad t-case.

The more logical approach would be if they built the t-case improperly.

Considering the wide range of crappy results via Mitsubishi techs, I would say for certain that this is the case.

You get a few good ones here and there, and there are several on the board.

The best thing to do? Call Mitsu, threaten a lawsuit and insist that they reimburse you for sending the t-case to Shepherd transmissions, www.sheptrans.com, and get it done right

The T-Case without an LSD is inherently weak. There are several mods, as well as careful attention to assembly that can be done in order to prevent this from happening.

Look at Buschur's car. I believe they built their own stuff, but their car is one of the two fastest Evos in the US, and they have no problems, along with AMS using Shep's trans (I believe)

Its a good, rock solid investment that you cannot go wrong with.
