3rd Gear Lockout
Ok so I finally went to the track today! Not posting times, they were absolute ****! Had all kinds of problems, bogging off the line due to my clutch being way to far up and not engaging early enough! But my Main problem was on 3 of my 4 runs, I got locked out of 3rd! This is really annoying because Ive adjusted my new clutch so many times I dont know what to do any more! The problem is that I installed all these parts at the same time so I dont have a way to compare it to how it was before!
My set-up is:
Buschwacker Stage 1 Transmission
Exedy HD Twin Plate Clutch
Redline Lightweight Shockproof Transmission Fluid
Speed Source Shifter Bushing - http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...4&cat=6&page=1
So please let me know if others have had this problem, If its due strictly to the clutch adjustment, the fluids, or something else. I have heard of lockout issues with shifter buschings, also! The other thing im worried about is when I adjust it down, it shifts fine but when I downshift into first in makes this winding sound, and when I push the clutch in, the sound stays but becomes in pulses. I know these clutches chatter, but I didnt think chatter sounded like a whine. If I cant get this fixed, Im probably going to Buschur on Monday and see if they can get it adjusted correctly!
Thank You for your help!

Its fine driving normal most of the time, only once in a while it wont want to go into 3rd when down shifting, but other then that its fine. It only locks me out when racing and shifting fast about 6500 rpms. As far as downshifting into 1st I dont release the clutch, just push it in and then put it in 1st till I stop. Its never engaged back in 1st while decelerating!

It sounds like the problem I'm having,,And I think it's my synchros...

It better not be my synchros! I just payed Buschur $900 to get my transmission rebuilt! All new synchros and sliders! Ive been reading somemore and have found some people have problems with aftermarket shifter buschings!
that's a load of crap. i can't count how many times i've been autocrossing and needed 1st gear to get a better launch off a corner, or to get more power to help the car rotate. that's the dumbest thing i've ever heard. 1st gear is a gear just like all the others.

I think the common wisdom says that if you're coming to a stop at a red light, don't shift down to 1st, just push the clutch in and use the brakes. Obviously the requirements are different for autox and you'll need 1st gear on the tight technical courses.
